Monday night I was making dinner. Deme sat at her little table by the kitchen working on some papers from school and coloring.
She said this to me, "Mommy I know a nickname for a rhombus."
My thoughts, "Did Demeree just say rhombus?"
Then she says, "I'll give you a hint, it starts with...Die, Die, Diamond! A nickname for a rhombus is a diamond!"
I thought Ryan would get a kick out of Deme knowing what a rhombus is so I had her call him and tell him the same thing. She repeated it several times so I could tell he couldn't understand her. I got the phone and told him what she was saying and he said that he didn't know what they were teaching her at school but a rhombus is not a diamond. I told him I would Google a rhombus for Demeree so she would know what it was. This is what google revealed...
The first image of a rhombus that came up was a diamond! Demeree laughed and laughed and I had to tell her several times that she is not smarter than her dad and she probably never will be. But she sure got a kick out of showing her dad what a rhombus is. She has also been using the word parallelogram. By the way, she is FOUR!

Laughing- aren't they cute? the way they think they know more?...the husbands and fathers that is. The kids always know more. Ask any of mine.
That's funny. Aaron had the same question mark expression on his face when he heard me teaching it to Naomi as a "rombo" in spanish. He didn't know what I was talking about. I thought that diamond was just the name for it in english, but I see that is not. Interesting. Thanks for the info!
Hilarious. It is amazing how fast they learn at that age. The words that come to mind are "smarty pants" what a cutie.
